The Basalt is a matte-black outdoor barrel sauna wrapped around a genuine Harvia® stove — the Finnish brand professional spas run. In our 30-minute factory test, even our smallest stove drove the barrel to 208°F — and it was still climbing when the clock stopped. Real löyly steam whenever you ladle water over the stones — the wave of humid heat that defines a true Finnish sauna.
Why the Basalt hits different:
- Genuine Harvia® 4.5kW stove — included. Others sell the heater as a $899+ add-on. Ours comes in the crate, with 44 lbs of sauna stones.
- 208°F in 30 minutes — tested, and not the ceiling. Our test hit 208°F in half an hour with the 4.5kW stove; final temperature depends on your dial and your weather. Built-in thermostat and 4-hour timer. Turn the dial, sweat.
- 38mm solid Canadian hemlock. Nearly 1.5" of wood between you and the weather — roughly double a typical big-box sauna wall.
- Black tinted tempered glass door. You see the glow. The neighbors see nothing.
- Built for every season. Waterproof black exterior coating, stainless steel bands, black shingle roof protection, twin air vents (intake + exhaust), and a slatted interior floor. Winter isn't the off-season — winter is the point.
- Ambient LED backlight behind the backrest, plus a waterproof heat-rated cabin light.
In the crate: sauna kit, Harvia® stove, 44 lbs of stones, bucket & ladle, ergonomic backrest with LED strip, thermometer, sand timer, slatted floor. One crate, curbside freight, free in the contiguous US.

Electrical: hardwired 240V dedicated circuit (~19A draw; your licensed electrician sizes the breaker, typically 25A). Interior lighting is simple 12V plug-in. One electrician visit, then it's yours for good.
Assembly: 60–90 minutes with 2–3 people and basic hand tools. Everything pre-cut — no carpentry. (Cabin-style saunas quote 8–16 hours.)
Warranty: 2-year structural warranty on the cabin, bands, benches, door, and hardware · 1-year Harvia® heater warranty. Both from date of delivery.
