Overview
The Antarctica Nitrogen is a head-out whole body cryotherapy chamber and the coldest unit in the Antarctica range, operating between −120 °C and −170 °C (−184 °F to −274 °F).
Cooling is by liquid nitrogen, distributed through the manufacturer's Platinum Jet system, which is designed to spread the cold evenly through the cabin rather than concentrating it at the point of entry. The chamber is open at the top: the client stands with their head and airway above the rim, in ambient room air, throughout the session, so no respiratory equipment is worn.
For the temperatures it reaches, the electrical demand is unusually modest — up to 1.5 kW on a standard 110V/60Hz or 220V/50Hz supply, roughly a 20-amp line. No three-phase service and no electrical upgrade are required. The cooling energy comes from the nitrogen, not the grid, which is the trade-off this architecture makes: lower electrical infrastructure in exchange for a nitrogen supply contract and 3–5 kg of consumption per session or precooling cycle.
Operation runs from a 10.1" commercial touchscreen with preset programs and manual control. Sessions typically run one to three minutes.
Simple and Grand
Both configurations share the same chamber, cooling system, dimensions and electrical requirements. The Grand adds two client-facing instruments:
- A thermal scope appliance for thermal imaging and evaluation of blood circulation
- A sensor monitoring the client's heart rate and blood oxygen level during the session
The Simple is the chamber without those instruments.

Before You Buy
Protective clothing is worn for every session — socks, gloves and undergarments. In a head-out chamber the extremities sit in the coldest part of the cabin, and this is not optional equipment.
Plan the nitrogen supply. Budget 3–5 kg per session or precooling cycle, and arrange dewar storage, securing, changeover and delivery access before the machine arrives.
Room ventilation and oxygen monitoring are the operator's responsibility. Nitrogen displaces oxygen, and the chamber's own controls govern the cabin, not the room it stands in. Confirm with the manufacturer and your local authority what room air-change rate and ambient oxygen monitoring your installation requires. Note that the Grand's oxygen sensor reads the client's blood oxygen — it is not an ambient room oxygen monitor.
Sessions are attended. This chamber is designed for operator-supervised use.
Confirm warranty terms at order. Vacuactivus offers extended coverage on other equipment in its range only within a short window after purchase, so settle the warranty question before you place the order rather than after delivery.
Access and installation. 600 kg crated and 2192 mm tall — check doorway, lift and floor loading on the delivery route.
