Absolute Zero AZ Pro Cold Plunge Chiller – 0.8 HP, Wi-Fi App Control, Heats and Cools 37–107°F with Ozone and 20-Micron Filtration

The AZ Pro Chiller is a 0.8 hp water chiller and heater in an 18-gauge steel housing, built to run a cold plunge year-round. Set one temperature and the unit decides for itself whether to cool or heat to reach it — 37°F for a plunge, up to 107°F for a warm soak, from the same box.

Cooling and heating
A GMCC KSN66E01VZDX3 rotary compressor delivers 2,200 W of cooling and 2,500 W of heating, drawing a maximum of 890 W (about 7.5 A) from a standard 120 V outlet. Absolute Zero rates the system to pull water down roughly 4–8°F per hour with a 160-gallon tub — faster when the water is warm, slower as it approaches 37°F. Actual rates depend on your water volume, tub insulation, ambient temperature and humidity.

Control from the unit or from your phone
A touchscreen on the chiller handles power, setpoint and °F/°C, and a held key brings up live sensor readings including flow rate. Hold the Wi-Fi key for six seconds to pair the unit to a 2.4 GHz network through the Tuya Smart Home app, which gives you the same controls plus ozone timing from anywhere.

Two-stage water care, built in
An ozone generator and a 20-micron particle filter work on the circulating water; ozone runs on a timer, set to 2–3 minutes by default and adjustable in the app. A mesh pre-filter catches sand, grit and larger debris ahead of the cartridge and extends its life. If flow drops below about 14 L/min on the display, it's usually time to rinse the mesh or change the cartridge.

Service intervals published by Absolute Zero: rinse the mesh pre-filter every few weeks; clean the 20-micron cartridge every 1–3 months and replace it every 3–6 months; service the ozone/UV element at 6 months and replace it at 12–24 months.

Connecting it up
Inlet and outlet are 1/2" male NPT. Absolute Zero's inflatable tubs use 3/4" camlock ports, so a Pro Chiller connects through the shut-off valve and camlock assemblies covered in their setup guide; the same fittings let it run against a stock tank, cooler or other DIY vessel. The supplied XDC-2500 circulation pump is a submersible DC unit rated IPx8, moving 660 gal/hr with 9.2 ft of head on 15 W.

Siting and power
Give the chiller clear air on all sides so it can reject heat, and keep it level and out of standing water — IPx4 covers splashing and rain, not immersion or pooling. Use a GFCI-protected outlet. At 7.5 A it will run on a standard 15 A circuit, but don't share that circuit with other significant loads. Never run the unit dry, and drain the chiller and lines before freezing weather — freeze damage is excluded from warranty.

Warranty
One year from delivery, to the original purchaser only, for units bought new from Absolute Zero or an authorized reseller and used in the United States; non-transferable, residential use only. Compressor and sealed refrigeration system, circulation pump, and control system are covered. Shipping damage must be reported within 72 hours of delivery with photographs. Filters, cartridges, gaskets, O-rings, hoses and fittings are consumables and are not covered; nor is damage from freezing, improper water chemistry, running dry, or power surges. Who it's for
Anyone building or upgrading a home plunge setup — pair it with an Absolute Zero tub, retrofit it to a stock tank or chest-freezer build, or replace a cooling-only chiller with one that also heats. The heating side means a single unit covers a cold plunge in summer and a warm soak in winter.

Before you use it
Cold water immersion is not for everyone. Sudden immersion in cold water triggers an involuntary gasp and a sharp rise in heart rate and blood pressure. Talk to your doctor before using a cold plunge if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, circulatory problems, or are pregnant. Never plunge alone, enter gradually, keep sessions short, and get out immediately if you feel dizzy, numb or short of breath.
