The XR is a whole body cryotherapy chamber from Cryo Innovations, cooled by liquid nitrogen and built for commercial operation in chiropractic, physical therapy, gym, sports team, salon, spa and event settings.

What separates it from most of the category is the compliance work behind it. The control panel is UL Listed under file number E474341. The nitrogen system is built to CGA G-4.1 for oxygen-service cleanliness, welded to ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section IX, and plumbed in ASTM B 819 seamless copper — the same tubing standard used for medical gas. Assembly follows International Plumbing Code Chapter 13 and NFPA 99, the Health Care Facilities Code. Vessels are pressure tested to 110% and 150% of maximum allowable working pressure. For an operator who has to satisfy a landlord, an insurer or a local authority before switching the machine on, that paperwork is the product.

The cabin is 316 stainless steel, chosen for corrosion resistance in an environment that cycles between deep cold and room humidity several times an hour. Usable height accommodates clients up to 7'2", weight capacity is 1,000 lb, and the exterior footprint is 44" × 34" — small enough for rooms that won't take a full-size chamber. High-output LED lighting runs inside and outside the cabin.

Installation is deliberately undemanding on the building: the chamber runs from a standard 110V outlet, with no three-phase service and no electrical upgrade. What it does need is Wi-Fi and a liquid nitrogen supply, consuming roughly 2–3 litres per session.

Monitoring and access control are where the XR is most unusual. Thermal imaging detects whether the client's head is present and reports real-time skin temperature. On-board sensors read blood oxygen, pulse, body temperature and client diagnostics through the session. Entry requires dual fingerprint authorization — both the operator and the client must approve — so the chamber cannot be started by an unattended client or an unauthorized one.

Safety systems act on the nitrogen supply directly. An emergency stop and shut-off valve halt nitrogen flow; a door proximity sensor closes the valves whenever the door opens; and the system shuts down instantly if any safety sensor is triggered.

There is no dry-out time between sessions, so appointments can run back to back. A built-in point-of-sale system is integrated into the chamber, and Wi-Fi connectivity supports live diagnostics and software updates. Operators running more than one chamber can manage all of them, and all client data, from the same system.

Keep that with the monitoring feature wherever it appears — listing, comparison table, spec sheet. Whole body cryotherapy devices are not FDA-cleared to treat any medical condition, and the FDA has published consumer cautions about the practice. Site requirements the buyer needs to plan for

This is a liquid nitrogen system, and nitrogen displaces oxygen. The XR's own safety systems govern the chamber; the room is the operator's responsibility. Before quoting an installation, confirm with Cryo Innovations and the local authority:

• Room ventilation and oxygen monitoring. NFPA 99 and CGA guidance address nitrogen in occupied spaces. Ask specifically whether a room oxygen monitor is supplied, recommended or required — the XR's on-board sensor reads the client's blood oxygen, not ambient air.
• Dewar siting, securing and changeover, and the delivery access that implies.
• Operator training and supervision requirements. Dual fingerprint authorization is designed around an attended session; confirm the chamber is not intended for unattended use.
