The Plunge Pod is a portable upright cold plunge that reaches as low as 37 °F with the Pro Chiller and runs from a standard household outlet.
At 94 lbs empty it is genuinely movable — two people can carry it into a garage, onto a patio or across a gym floor — and setup takes about 20 minutes with no plumbing.
The seat is the reason to look at this one. The upright reclined design accommodates users up to 6'7", which is unusual in this category; most plunge tubs run short and tall users end up folded. The shell is UV-resistant, high-grade insulated polyethylene, built to hold temperature outdoors and resist sun exposure over time.
Two chillers determine how fast it cools:
- Standard — 4–6 °F per hour
- Pro — 8–10 °F per hour, with an added hose filter
An optional heater adds 4–5 °F per hour, extending the range for hot-and-cold contrast sessions.
The Plunge app (iOS and Android, over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi) handles temperature, scheduling and session tracking. Scheduling matters more than it first appears: because cooling is measured in hours rather than minutes, setting the tub to reach temperature by a chosen time is how you actually get a cold plunge when you want one, rather than when the chiller catches up.
Water care is a 20-micron filter plus ozone sanitation built into the chiller, supporting either chlorine or non-chlorine maintenance routines — a few minutes a week rather than a daily job.
Available in White or Granite.

Before You Buy
Check you have a dedicated 15 A circuit at the intended location. This is a standard 110 V outlet, but the circuit must not be shared. In a garage or on a patio that often means an electrician — plan for it rather than discovering it at setup.
Measure for the chiller as well as the tub. The chiller is a separate unit — 28" × 16" × 17.5" for the Pro, 23" × 14" × 18" for the Standard — and needs airflow around it. The 15 ft cord sets how far the pair can sit from the outlet.
Confirm your Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz. The app connects on 2.4 GHz only. If your router broadcasts a combined band or 5 GHz only, sort that before delivery — and note the warranty depends on it.
Connect the tub through the app to activate the warranty. Coverage is 1-year limited and activation runs through the app connection. Do it on day one.
Confirm the filled weight against your floor. 820 lbs filled. On a deck, balcony or upper floor, have the structure checked; on a slab or garage floor it's fine.
Plan for runoff. Water leaves with the user. Plunge offers a Mini Basin for this; on a finished floor, budget for it.
Decide the chiller on how you'll use it. If you plunge in the morning, the Standard chiller plus scheduling works. If you want the tub cold on demand or you're running multiple users through it, the Pro's 8–10 °F per hour is the difference.
Safety Guidance
An 87-gallon open water container and cold immersion both carry real risk. A protocol matters:
- Use the child safety strap and keep the cover secured whenever the tub is unattended. Open water in a home is a drowning hazard for young children and pets.
- Never plunge alone. Cold shock response — an involuntary gasp and rapid breathing on entry — can be dangerous in water, and its severity isn't predictable from experience.
- Enter gradually and control breathing before full immersion.
- Limit session duration and watch for shivering, numbness or disorientation on exit.
- Do not use after alcohol or when significantly fatigued.
- Anyone with a cardiovascular condition, high or low blood pressure, arrhythmia, Raynaud's, a seizure disorder, or who is pregnant should consult a qualified physician before cold immersion, as should anyone taking medication affecting heart rate or blood pressure.
- Supervise all first-time users.
