The Sven & Son Essential bundle pairs a queen adjustable base with a 14-inch medium-soft hybrid mattress. The Essential is Sven & Son's entry-level base: it provides head and foot adjustment, presets, and memory positions, and leaves out the massage, lighting, USB, and app features of the higher tiers. The base raises the head up to 65 degrees and the foot up to 45 degrees for reading, watching TV, or sleeping with the legs elevated. A zero-gravity preset lifts the head and feet together to take pressure off the lower back, and an anti-snore preset raises the head slightly.

Quiet motors drive the adjustments, controlled by a wireless remote with programmable memory positions to save favorite settings, a one-touch flat button to return the bed to level, and a built-in flashlight for finding the remote or the floor in the dark. An emergency battery backup lowers the bed to flat during a power outage.

The steel frame rests on fixed 12-inch legs. A mattress retention bar keeps the mattress from sliding during adjustment, and standard queen headboards, footboards, and side rails attach with Sven & Son's bracket kit, sold separately. Assembly takes about 15 minutes.

The 14-inch hybrid mattress is built in Jacksonville, Florida, with an airflow gel layer and cooling gel-infused memory foam over a comfort support layer, individually pocketed innerspring coils, and a base foam support layer, wrapped in a quilted rayon and polyester cover. The foam is CertiPUR-US certified, the cover is OEKO-TEX certified, and the fire barrier is fiberglass-free. The medium-soft feel suits side sleepers and those who prefer a plusher surface.
