The Plunge: Original Cold Plunge Tub

The Plunge Original is the full-length tub in the Plunge range: 66-5/8" long, so you recline and stretch out rather than sitting upright. It accommodates users up to 6'8".

It reaches as low as 37 °F, cooling at 8–10 °F per hour. An optional heater takes the same tub up to 104 °F at 4–5 °F per hour, so one installation covers both cold plunging and warm soaking, and contrast sessions run without a second tub.

At 144 lbs empty it's lighter than it looks. The shell is acrylic and fiberglass with enhanced insulation for temperature retention, UV-resistant for outdoor placement. Filled, it holds 105 gallons and weighs 1,019.7 lbs — so siting is about the floor, not the delivery.

The Plunge app handles temperature control and session tracking. On a tub that cools in hours rather than minutes, scheduling is what gets you a cold plunge when you want one rather than when the chiller catches up.

Installation is plug-and-plunge — no plumbing, indoors or outdoors. Power is a dedicated 120 V 15 A circuit.

An insulated spa cover, hose filter, skimmer net, cell phone holder, maintenance kit with a six-month filter supply, GFCI cord and guided plunge videos are included.

Before You Buy

Check you have a dedicated 15 A circuit at the intended location. This runs on a standard 120 V outlet, but the circuit must not be shared with anything else. In a garage or on a patio that usually means an electrician — budget for it rather than discovering it at setup.

Confirm the filled weight against your floor. 1,019.7 lbs filled. On a slab or garage floor that's fine; on a deck, balcony or upper floor, have the structure checked before delivery.

Plan for runoff. Water leaves the tub with the user — on a finished floor, plan drainage or a mat.

Confirm outdoor suitability for your climate, particularly freeze protection and the chiller's rated ambient range.

Safety Guidance

A 105-gallon open water container and cold immersion both carry real risk. A protocol matters:

• Keep the insulated cover secured whenever the tub is unattended. Open water in a home is a drowning hazard for young children and pets.
• Never plunge alone. Cold shock response — an involuntary gasp and rapid breathing on entry — can be dangerous in water, and its severity isn't predictable from experience.
• Enter gradually and control breathing before full immersion.
• Limit session duration and watch for shivering, numbness or disorientation on exit.
• Do not use after alcohol or when significantly fatigued.
• Anyone with a cardiovascular condition, high or low blood pressure, arrhythmia, Raynaud's, a seizure disorder, or who is pregnant should consult a qualified physician before cold immersion, as should anyone taking medication affecting heart rate or blood pressure.
• Supervise all first-time users.
